So I can safely say that if you are like me and you get those lovely raccoon eyes toward the end of an evening, try out the Paint Pots! I had applied a little bit of pale gold pigment over top and it didn’t budge.

I know, I know it’s horrible for my skin but anything to test a product! After a very intense run on the treadmill, with lots of sweating involved, I was amazed to discover that my eye makeup looked great. I decided to take it all one step further and applied Painterly to my lids right before going to the gym. This was the spontaneous text I got this morning. Also make sure to close the lid tightly so it doesn’t dry up. The only tip she gave us was to blend fast as the product sets quickly. Since we are the proud owners of Urban Decay’s Naked 2 palette, we decided that we could layer those colours over top. Great for an everyday look paired with a lig. The first time I applied it it felt a little chalky but not the second time or the third. Sold! We both purchased Painterly, a very neutral base (once on it’s almost exactly the same colour as my skin). Well you can imagine my skepticism when the makeup artist showed us the MAC Paint Pots. I’ve probably said this before, but I don’t love having too much ‘stuff’ on my face as it always feels too heavy. I’ve been told to apply powder or to apply a base but none of these remedies really work and I’m not dying to apply anything over top of my makeup to set it. Who doesn’t love to discover new products, right? I haven’t been into a MAC store in a while so I’m no longer really familiar with everything they carry.īoth my friend and I have the same issue, we love a great smokey eye but somehow after a few hours, we just look like raccoons….Not very attractive. She wanted to get some more information on the MAC Paint Pots and I happily tagged along. On a whim my friend and I decided to go to MAC a few days ago. I also have my eye on Groundwork, which is a MAC classic that I’ve shockingly never owned.MAC Paint Pots. I loved it dearly and used it to its last breath, and I will undoubtedly repurchase it once I’m done with Camel Coat. Painterly was the first Paint Pot I ever owned or used. The thing with Paint Pots, which is really the only annoying thing about them, is that MAC likes to shuffle them in and out of their lineup. However I used to own several more in different colors. They also come in different colors and finishes. (I never notice much creasing from 8 – 10 hours of wear, but anything after 10 – 12 hours is fair game.) They are also generally quite creamy and easy to apply with brushes or fingers. Well, nine times out of ten my shadows apply smoothly and lock into place for long-wear with one of these babies underneath. But I’ve always come back to my good ‘ole Paint Pots. That is saying something! I’ve tried a lot of products in my time, including other eye primers like the Urban Decay Primer Potion and the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I’ve probably never been as dedicated to one particular product as I have been to the MAC Paint Pots. Primarily, I use Paint Pots as eye primers before I apply powder shadows, and this is something I’ve been doing since I started wearing makeup years and years ago. These are just great, reliable little products that I just can’t be without. This is one of those rare cases where I agree with nearly all the claims a brand makes about their product (obviously I can’t attest to the first two claims).
